Flo & Phil: Central Park and Manhattan portraits

A lakeside ceremony is the heart of Flo and Phil’s story. Getting ready, Bethesda Terrace, portraits outside The Plaza and a Rockefeller Center observation deck give the collection its different Manhattan chapters.

Getting ready and a first look

The opening photographs stay close to Flo and Phil: wedding details, preparations in a hotel room and a first look. These interiors are a separate part of the story from the later portraits outside The Plaza.

The city journey brings a taxi, the Park Lane entrance and views around Central Park into the collection. These street locations lead the eye toward the park ceremony.

A ceremony beside the Lake

Beside the Lake in Central Park, Flo and Phil stand together with their officiant. The photographs move from a wide view of the setting to the ring exchange and the expressions between them.

The trees and water give the ceremony its surroundings; the close photographs hold the hands, rings and faces at the center of it.

Bethesda Terrace and the park around it

Flo and Phil silhouetted beneath the arches and stairs of Bethesda Terrace.

Portraits around Bethesda Fountain and beneath the Terrace arcade bring stonework, tiles and wider park views into the next chapter. Other frames follow paths and greenery, giving the couple time together beyond the ceremony.

These are photographs from Flo and Phil’s wedding. For a new date, check the current setting: Bethesda Fountain is under restoration, while Bethesda Terrace remains open.

The Plaza exterior, then Midtown streets

The later street portraits include The Plaza exterior near Central Park South, followed by Midtown views. This is the outdoor Plaza chapter: the hotel façade becomes part of the city backdrop.

For your own portraits, a hotel’s exterior setting and permission to photograph inside it are separate arrangements. Discuss indoor professional photography with the hotel before including a room, lobby or staircase in your plan.

The skyline at Rockefeller Center

The story closes with observation-deck portraits at Rockefeller Center. Skyline views make a different background from the Lake, the Terrace and the street photographs below.

A ticketed observation deck has its own admission, equipment and photography arrangements. Confirm the current conditions for your date and photographer when planning a similar stop.

Choose the chapters you want photographed

A park ceremony, portraits outside a hotel and a skyline visit call for different access arrangements and time for the journeys between them. Choose your priorities, then shape the photographic coverage around the bookings and permissions for your own day.
