Martha & Tyler’s Brooklyn Botanic Garden micro-wedding

Martha and Tyler’s micro-wedding began at Brooklyn Botanic Garden with around 30 family members. Brunch nearby and an evening party with friends left a few hours to pause in between.

A ceremony among the trees

At 9 a.m., around 30 of Martha and Tyler’s closest family members gathered at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a place close to their hearts and their home. The morning left space for the ceremony’s emotion, family photographs and a short, relaxed portrait session.

The portraits move through greenery, beneath a willow and along a wooden footbridge. Together, these frames show how a garden wedding can include both close portraits and a sense of the place.

Brunch, a pause and an evening with friends

Brunch at Café Mado brought the same small group together for good food, speeches and conversation. Then came a few hours’ break before the evening party, with time to absorb the morning and recharge.

That evening, friends joined them at BABA on Withers, a Brooklyn wine bar, for live music, drinks, hugs and laughter. Rain made the gathering feel cozier. The family morning and the evening with friends each had their own space.

Planning your own Garden micro-wedding?

If you like this rhythm, start with the parts of the day you want photographed. Allow for travel between venues and discuss how a break between gatherings fits the agreed coverage and your Garden reservation.

Our preparation guide explains the differences between a ceremony reservation and a separate portrait permit. The photography page shows how we approach coverage around those arrangements.
